Prior to WWII, the address for the Luk Kwok Hotel was 67-77 Gloucester Road.

With the completion of the Praya East Reclamation in 1929, the modern and imposing structure of the Luk Kwok Hotel can be read here in the Hong Kong Daily Press dated 17 August 1933. As the Hotel was located on the waterfront, it is interesting to note that 4 Chinese charcters were painted at the rear of the building facing Johnston Road for the purpose of attracting potential patrons travelling by tram.
