May 1937 passenger list

Harold Frederick Shields dental mechanic age 30 and Doris Nellie Shields age 28 arrived in London from Hong Kong and gave Hong Kong as their permanent place of residence

Harold Frederick Shields died in Hong Kong 6 February 1971 and was buried in Bexleyheath Cemetery 13 April 1971

Please forgive my confusion but I wonder if someone could clarify. We are told that Mr. Shields died and was cremated in Hong Kong in 1971; however, it would appear that he was buried in Bexleyheath in the U.K. in the same year. 
I presume that means that his ashes were taken back to the U.K. for burial?

Yes, that's the likely explanation. I see he'd got married in Kent and the cemetery is in Kent, so he was probably buried with family members there,

There are other instances where remains have been repatriated.
