He studied in Wien (Austria). /His father was train engenier in the army of Austro-Hungarian Monarchy (K.u.K. Monarchy), and worked in Sanok, in Wien, in Győr (Hungary) etc. His father and mother died in Budapest(Hungary) cca.1940. and 1960. /
Hi Susanne, I assume you are related to Rudi Lederhofer. My parents Nat and Julie Rakusen were great friends of Rudi and Olivia and their contact details are in my mother's address book. My father died in 1966 and my mother in 1981. I wonder if you have any knowledge of their friendship? I see from Greg Leck's book that Rudi was with Shewan, Tomes & Co. before the war. I am not certain about my parents work before the war but certainly after the war, my father was with Gilman & Co for the rest of his career.

I note that according to Wikipedia, Sanok was under Austrian rule at the time of Rudi's birth, and until 1918.

Yes. This area of Galizia was under Austrian rule before the Trianon peace pact.
