Barbara Anslow:

In camp were Frank (at some time), and 'Ginger' (Herbert) Angus, their
sister-in-law Hilda Angus (a nurse, whose husband G. Angus of HKVDC died a pow in Japan), and Mrs. Matilda Angus, mother of the Angus boys.

Greg Leck lists Hilda Angus as being Ginger's wife, but that is a mistake.
Ginger did not get married until post-war, to an Australian girl called Sue.

Dear Barbara,

Did you know the Anguses? I have paintings by a Sue Angus inherited from my grandparents, and am wondering if this is the same Sue. My grandfather was interned at Stanley for part of the war, and was in the HKVDC. My grandmother was evacuated to Sydney so perhaps this is how they all knew each other.

With thanks for any help you can give,

Briony Widdis
