My mother Esther Ruth Haugland was born on the 21th of april 1921 and died on the 7th of july 1983

I am sorry to say that my mother and grandmother did not speak about the life in the camp. They only told me that they had been in a camp and that the life in the camp was hard. In their latest years the also had some problems to sleep because of the memories from the camp. I got to know the name of the camp here on this site. Thank's for a very gode site You have about Hong Kong. It helps me searching for my mothers grandparents and relatives, they did not speak a lot about that. I know my grandmother had an elder brother who lived in Hong Kong until he died, but I never heard his name or when he died. The photos I have posted is from my father who died in 2010. If I find out anything more I will let You know. And again, thank You.

They arrived together in Southampton from Hong Kong 9 November 1945

Florence Haughland age 43 landlady and Esther R Haughland age 21 stenographer

Their UK address was 28 Alexander Street Derby In 1939 William A Hatton was living there.

Correct names are Esther Ruth Haugland and Florence Haugland (Born Sayce)

I have just written a long email to them today, so I hope they will answer me. I wrote of my mother, grandmother, Kelly Sayce and Fanny Sayce. It has been a week now, but no answer yet.
