I believe this is the 16-mile stone marker (# 40) along Kwong Fuk Road in Tai Po (Kwong Fuk Road was once part of Tai Po Road).

Hi Phil, there is another location marker with the same number 40 a short distance to the west.  Is it a duplicate?  Thanks. Regards,  Peter

** apology - I tried but could not access this page.  However, we can look up both markers using "View map" on 1952 map.

Hi Peter, yes it's a duplicate. Gerry's refers to the official location on the 1945 map whereas mine refers to a stone I found lying in the grass verge that had a milestone shape but had obviously been torn up and abandoned. I could never confirm whether it was the stone or not. I created this many years ago, but I'm happy for it to be deleted for the sake of tidyness if David think's it best, or I can change the title to something more appropriate. Phil
