Stanley POW Camp and The Hong Kong Police

Hi

My name is Ian Matches. My father is Harold Matches (deceased - 26/08/92) He is featured in a number of photos of the Hong Kong Police.

My mother died last year and during the process of clearing out the attic we have discovered old files on the Hong Kong police force and a number of old photos.

Is there anyone who is interested in what we may have as we would be happy to provide info etc and copies of photos.

My email address is ian.matches@btinternet.com if anyone wants to get in touch.

Hi Ian,

Thanks for getting in touch. I'd be very interested to see any group photos with names, and any memoir / diary entries that describe your father's time in Stanley. I'll send you an email next.

Regards, David

Hello Ian

My Uncle, Duncan MacPherson, was also interned in Stanley during the war and was in the HK Police prior to the war until he left HK in aprox 1954 - by that time he was a Commissioner of Police.  Duncan would have been the same age - as he was born in June 1912 - so they must have known each other.  I would be interested in any group photos or anything referring to him.

Regards,

Suziepie
