Connie Hamson was the sister of Arthur Bird Hamson. Arthur and other family members were sent to Stanley during the Japanese occupation, but Connie remained uninterned and spent the war years alone. With help from the Red Cross she was reunited with her brother at the end of the war, but declined the invitation to join him in Australia, preferring to remain in Hong Kong.
She is mentioned in Henry Ching's diary (October 15, 1942).
