Two independent sources praise her for the way she conducted herself while in prison after her re-arrest by the Japanese on January 30th 1944.
She was the only woman amongst 40 people who were tried on August 29th, 1944. Eighteen of these were Macanese, including her husband - one of Hong Kong's first chiropractors - and her brother-in-law, Charles Henry Basto, who was executed for espionage.
She died in New South Wales on June 4th 1979
