The police station's location is also shown on the first slide (a map) of the slideshow at:

On that corner today there's a small flat area that is used as a car park. I guess that's the site of the police station.

Any ideas when the police station went out of use and was demolished?

Built 1861 , still in use as a Police Post in the early 1960's,demolished by 1980.

Thanks, I'll set the demolition date to 1980 for now. Any more accurate date, and any other photos of the station very welcome.

Regards, David

On the ordeers of Chris Dawson, ACP, I closed this police post in late 1962 or 1963.

Thanks for the date it closed, I've added it to the timeline above. It just managed to get past its 100th birthday.

Re my earlier post. The PFL police post at the tiome was unused and unnecessary. I think the closure must have been early 1963. Was it not later used for riding for the disabled?
