Mrs. Loseby, who lost a travelling clock, Miss Mavens a wrist watch and Miss Fernandes a finger ring, and ear rings, were complainants before Mr. Butters yesterday when two Chinese were charged with larceny.

The police stated that they had little evidence against one of the defendants, who was accordingly discharged. The other defendant was sentenced to a total of four months’ hard labour.”
