The building says "Patell Villas" at the top.

The 1900 Jurors list has a Patell entry:

cPatellMuncherjee JamsetjeeBrokerS. J. David & Co

Was he Parsee? Perhaps a dynastic fortress in TST :-)

From HKGRO: Patell Villas was situated on the west side of Hankow Road (35-39) past Peking Road and Ichang Street towards Haiphong Road. Probably in the rise between Ashley and Hankow Roads.

I think one needs a map to register that. If I were a betting man, probably facing east.
