Saw this on FB posted by one of the editors at HK mag. Looks like workman removed a balustrade and damaged one of the bases of the gas lamps so they could fit a projector in there for a party.
The AMO has been informed but they need more info. If anyone can help please contact HK Mag or the AMO.

duddell street damage
unbelievable - and no one thought to call the police or stop them? The govt showed the efforts it was going to protect them from some minor work in link below and a couple of workers trash it in an afternoon with an angle grinder for a fashion party. I hope the organizers are taken to court. Anyone know who was responsible?
Also worth noting anyone who contravenes the following is liable to a maximum fine of HK$100,000 and a year in jail
(1) Subject to subsection (4), no person shall-
(a) excavate, carry on building or other works, plant or fell trees or deposit earth or refuse on or in a
proposed monument or monument; or
(b) demolish, remove, obstruct, deface or interfere with a proposed monument or monument,
except in accordance with a permit granted by the Authority. (Amended 38 of 1982 s. 7)
