There is a hill called Boa Vista (meaing good view in Portugese) near Tai Tam.

This name can be found in old governement record dated 1908.

Does anyone know why it is so named and in Portugese?

It appears on a map dated 1905-1909 (Mapping Hong Kong, Plate 2-8), with the title "Bona Vista".

Sorry I don't have any ideas for how it got its name.
