Kuma’s full name was Kumamoto. He was one of two Japanese special investigators (not sure exactly who they worked for) who arrived in HK in late 1942 or early 1943. He investigated the activities of the staff of the Hong Kong News, and it is believed his investigations were instrumental in the arrests of C.M.Faure and O.M.Omar who were also amongst the 12 SCMPost men who worked for the Hong Kong News, and my father (who did not work for the Hong Kong News).
