This postcard refers to the Observatory; which building is the Observatory ??

Not the Observatory proper but the Time Ball Tower which later was relocated to Signal Hill.

Thanks ... so I suppose the Observatory itself was out of picture to the right.

The yellow building in the centre was presumably the Water Police Station.

Only the Time Ball Tower was located at the Water Police Station. The Obervatory had its main buildings at its current location on Mount Elgin.
