OBITUARY.
DEATH OF MR. GEORGE BANKER
Many residents will hear with deep regret of the death, which took place at his residence in Kowloon this morning, of Mr. George Banker, head of Messrs Banker and Company, at the age of 55 years. The deceased had only been ill for a few weeks.
The late Mr. Banker, who had resided in the Colony for many years, came here from Shanghai. He was a pioneer in West River motor-ship transportation, his Company owning several such craft. He was a prominent member of St. Andrew's Church, having been Treasurer for several years. Of a quiet, kindly, Christian disposition, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He leaves a widow and three young children, for whom much sympathy will be felt. The funeral takes place to-morrow afternoon, passing the Monument at 4.30 p,m.
A special memorial service is to be held at St. Andrew's Church to-morrow evening at 6 o’clock, in which the Bishop of the Diocese will take part.
