Pre-war, Miss Mui Shiu Hing was a salesgirl on the Oriental Store in Queens Road, and later became a sales agent for Nam Wah Knitting Factory, where she worked until the outbreak of hostilities in Hongkong.  She was taken on through Thomas Tim Wing by the  group of Reserve Police in May 1942, and was told to join as many of the Japanese departments as possible.  She managed to get a job in the Chung Hwa Printing Press, and a part-time job as house-keeper in a Japanese Hostel for Kowloon Dockyard workers.  She was betrayed by a bus conductor and arrested.  She broke down under torture, betrayed her own identity, but refused to name her colleagues.
