Eva Webb Anderson was the wife of the Wesleyan missionary doctor, Reverend W.J. Webb Anderson. Carl Smith records their marriage at the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Hong Kong in 1901. I believe the Webb Andersons retired from Fatshan to Hong Kong in 1916 and lived at The Cottage, 19 Broadwood Road until the mid-1920s, when they went back to England. I haven't yet been able to check the Ladies' Directories for this period.

According to my father, a Miss Rawclliffe - possibly Mrs Webb Anderson's niece - was engaged as governess by his father, CE Warren, to accompany him and his brother, aged 7 and 11, on the sea voyage to school in Canada, arriving a fortnight before the term started in 1917. If anyone comes across any mentions of Mrs Webb Anderson or Miss Rawcliffe in Hong Kong around this time, I'd be most grateful to know. Miss Rawcliffe, who apparently eloped with a fellow passenger, didn't return to Hong Kong.
