  • Interned at Stanley a few days later, together with her husband and her father, Albert Clarke.
  • She was born in Canada, and was accepted for the 1943 repatriation, along with her husband.
  • After recuperating, she worked for British Security Co-Ordination in New York until the war in Europe ended.
  • Then she traveled by ship to Sydney to be reunited with her mother Edith and sister Marie, who'd moved been evacuated there from Hong Kong in 1940. Her father joined them there after he was released from Stanley.
  • In Sydney she worked in the Hong Kong Liaison Office.
  • After 14 months in Sydney she was recalled to Hong Kong. David died in Hong Kong from Malaria.
  • In May 1950 she married Philip Franklin, a family friend.
