Who was `Vinjar`?

I am trying to find out the name of the person behind the pseudonym `Vinjar`. He/she wrote letters to the South China Morning Post in 1936 and 1937 on wildlife matters,such as the dhole and may have known G.Herklots.

Possibly Vincent Jarrett? He was a journalist who wrote a column on old Hong Kong in the SCMPost. Interned in Stanley during the war. Just guessing.
