Aberdeen Upper Reservoir Rain Gauge [1938- ]
Primary tabs
Thanks to Tom for his comment on a photo of the old rain gauge at Wong Nei Chung Reservoir (www.gwulo.com/node/35061) alerting me to the continued existence of this one at Aberdeen Upper Reservoir.
They are both similar in shape and design, but this one is built of, or clad in, concrete, has a metal door protecting the inside of the gauge and is surrounded by what appears to be the original metal fence. The hole through which the rain was collected is blocked, so its obviously no longer in use.
To get to it, walk across the dam wall to the east end then follow the path for about 150 meters and its on your right.
