  • The War Office officially formed The Queen Alexandra's Imperial Military Nursing Service (QAIMNS) on the 27 March 1902 under a Royal Warrant to replace the Army Nursing Service and the Indian Nursing Service.
  • On the 1 February 1949 the QAIMNS became a corps and were renamed The Queen Alexandra’s Royal Army Nursing Corps because of the Women's Forces of the Crown Act.
