Can you read Chinese? The reason I ask is because this forum has outlined a Chinese guide book (see bottom left book): http://gwulo.com/node/2831
It's a Chinese book but the BatGung guys are in the process of compiling an English companion to it on this site: http://gwulo.com/node/2931
From route 13 onwards the routes look around Northern NT area, starting from Tai Po, up to Luk Keng and also out towards Kam Tin and Tai Lam areas, but not really extending much further west. Perhaps there was less activity here, but of course that doesn't mean there isn't stuff to find.
Perhaps other Batgung readers can point you in the direction of other material that may help?
re: NT Pillboxes
I don't know that area so well, and can only think of the Perowne Barracks as a building with a military connection.
I believe there are still buildings in Yuen Long that have a connection with the Japanese occupation, but I can't give any concrete examples. We'll be interested to hear what you find.
