An article in the South China Morning Post, written in 1979, says Rutton Building was in existence from 1925 through to approx. 1980. A photograph of the building is available to purchase through GettyImages. Here is the link to this photo....

Thanks Paula. I gave the 1925 PWD Annual report a quick check, and there's confirmation in point 42:

42. Principal Works of a Private Nature.—The following blocks of business premises, etc., in the City were completed during the year : —
