Property occupied during WWII

My family lived in Hong Kong from the early 1900’s. I understand that they owned property here that was occupied during WWII. I am absolutely sure we don’t have any claim on the property anymore but I’m just keen to find out more about where it was they lived.
Should I start my search with the land registry?
Thanks

There's no harm in trying the land registry, though I'm not sure if they can do a search for land owned by a family. I think they usually work the other way round - "Here's the plot of land I'm interested in, please tell me who owned it over the years." Please let us know how you get on.
What was the family name of the family members you are investigating? If you search for it on this Gwulo website (see search box at top-right corner of the page), do we have any matches? They might appear in the Jurors Lists we have here, and they show addresses.
If you know the road they were on but not the buildings, you can also try searching the rate books to see if you can spot them (eg: https://gwulo.com/atom/29527).
