Talk by historian and author Tony Banham on his latest book, “Reduced to a Symbolical Scale.”

David

The Hong Kong Branch of the Orders and Medals Research Society will host a talk by local historian and author Tony Banham, on Saturday 28 April, on his latest book titled “Reduced to a Symbolical Scale.”

The book traces the evacuation of some 3500 British family members from HK to Australia, from 1940, in the face of Japanese aggrandizement in Asia. This subject is a fascinating one and Tony has uncovered some wonderful stories during his research.

The talk will be held at 19:30 hrs (meet at 19:00 hrs) at the Volunteers Association Clubhouse on the 9/F of the Happy Valley Stand, Happy Valley Racecourse. There will be a charge of $50 for members of the RAS and $100 for non-members.

All are cordially invited. We will have the services of a barman and a cash bar will be available on the night.

Anyone who wishes to attend, please e-mail martin.heyes@gmail.com

Best regards
