The first buildings here were single-storey, with two pitched roofs. One was where the tram pulled in, and the other looks to be for the ticket office and waiting room.

Timeline:

  • 1888: I've assumed it was built in time for the opening of the tram, but it may have followed on shortly afterwards.
  • 19??: At some point a large clock was added to the north face of the building. We have a photo firmly dated to 1923 that doesn't show the clock, so it should have been added after then.
