A map of the area from 1957:

Wanchai Road
Wanchai Road, by Herostratus

Wanchai Road was renumbered numerous times in the early 20th century so 153 moved around a lot. Do you know what year Homewood was dated 153.  For instance on the 20th February 1903 151 became 153 (IL1419) and the existing 153 became 155 (IL1368). In 1925 No 151 &153 became 191 & 193. (These were just to the east of Wood Road)

The address date is from a 1925 directory

My original point of reference was a 1925 marriage announcement for someone  living at Homeville, Wanchai to someone living at Wild Dell, Wood  Road.

See https://gwulo.com/node/41533

153 became 193 on November 20th 1925. Here is a map of the area from the 1920s. i have added the numbers in red:

The second photo I believe is a picture of the building, taken approximately where the red x is on the above map:

Lodging House in Wanchai

The building in the Wild Dell location was renumbered from 147 to 181 on the same date and is situated on the triangular piece of land to the left of No 151

Trying to get my bearings. Can I assume the road that veers off to the right is Wood Road and that the pedestrians are crossing the junction of Wood Road and Wanchai Road? Thanks.

The picture is taken a little further up Wanchai Road looking West. herei s the modern day view:

There is also more discussion of the location here

OK. Got it now, Thanks.
