Death before October 1945 when his widow arrived in Liverpool on her way to Mrs S Thirlwell in Victoria Park Manchester

Died 12 September 1941 At sea, near Port of Massawa, Eritreia, Colony of Italy

Killed in action during the East Africa Campaign of WWII as the Master of the salvage tug SS Tai Koo based out of Hong Kong. Ship hit a mine and sank. Buried by crew on the Island of Harmil where they landed after 18 hours adrift on debris.
