Hi there,
Can anyone tell me what life was like as a British nurse in Hong Kong in the early 1960s? I'm doing some research and hoping to find images or diaries etc to help build an impression of what life was like out there. What the needs of the people were, whether there was interaction with the locals/how the two worlds integrated.
Thanks,
R

Hopefully readers will have specific information about nurses and nursing. For some background information:

Thank you for the link to Typhoon Wanda. I was 8 years old and it seemed such an exciting time. I didn't understand my mother's and Amah's worries until it was time to go back to school and we saw the landslides on the drive there. For us kids it was an adventure. A huge tree had fallen into the courtyard of our flats and we spent a lot of our playtime on that tree until it was removed.
