Today this is part of the plot for the Standard Chartered Bank Building, which extends from Des Voeux Rd to Queen's Rd.
A 1911 map of Central (Plate 3-4, Mapping Hong kong) shows there were two separate buildings:
- This building, 4 Des Voeux Rd, marked 'Hongkong Shanghai Bank Property. McEwen, Frickel & Co.'
- Chartered Bank of India, Australia and China on the southern half of the land, facing Queen's Road.
