Hi there,

In the last decade of it's existance in town, Daimaru had actually had an extension nearby.  It occupied the whole block between Gloucestor round the corner, Kingston & Cleveland.

Best Regards,

T

Looking west across Victoria Park towards Daimaru and Patterson St. The open area in front of Daimaru was where the Jade and Pearl Cinemas used to be. In the photo, the former Causeway Bay Magistracy can also be seen. Today, it is the site of the Tin Hau MTR Station.

Added dates from Moddsey:

The Daimaru Department Store opened for business on 4 November 1960 and closed down in 1998.
