RAF Kong Wei was listening post (listening to radio transmissions from mainland China), manned by the RAF in the 1950s.
The 'rest room' was here, with the D/F huts out on the paddy fields to the North and South of the road.

DF simply meant Direction Finding. This system was used by many countries to determine where radio transmissions came from.
