Anthonij BOSJE (aka Antony) [1902-????]
Primary tabs
[Update 2020: Antony Bosje's grand-daughter has been in touch in the comments below and says that the man in the photo below isn't Antony, and that Antony never worked in Hong Kong. So the original owner of the album, and the identity of the man in the photo, are mysteries.]
He was the original owner of a small photo album I bought a few years ago. The seller included this note:
Unique private photo album of Dutchman Antony Bosje, who joined the Royal Netherlands Harbour Company at age 21 in 1923 and was sent to Macao and Hong Kong to work at projects in the ports of both cities.
This man appears in several of the photos in the album, so I guess this was Antony:
- Anthonij BOSJE (aka Antony) [1902-????] member of Netherlands Harbour Works, Ltd [c.1924-1957]

No not Antony Bosje
The man in the two photographs is not my grandfather Antony Bosje. I cannot tell you who this man is but this is definitely not him. Furthermore, my grandfather never worked in Hong Kong, but he did so in Macao and later in Peking and Huludao for the Royal Dutch Harbour Works.
re: No not Antony Bosje
Thanks Janine, that's useful to know. I've updated the details above.
That makes two new mysteries - who was the man in the photo, and who owned the photo album originally?
