New Exhibition of HK maps & photos @ HKUST, 18 Jun – 2 Oct, 2019

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology are showing a selection of old photos and maps of Hong Kong. Many of the photos appeared in the recent Steps Through Time exhibition I prepared for The Pottinger Hotel, so this is a second chance to see them. The exhibition also shows historic maps from the HKUST Library Special Collections, and from local private collections.

It is held in the University Library, but members of the public are also welcome to attend. Thanks to Joyce Yau from the library for giving the directions below.
Directions to the library
For transportation to the campus and the Library, visitors may take the bus or minibus from the Choi Hung, Hang Hau, Tiu Keng Leng, or Po Lam MTR stations to either the north or south entrance of the University. The page https://library.ust.hk/about-us/contact-us/transportation/ gives more details on the transportation and has a campus map for reference.
Our Library is closer to the North (main) entrance and these are the buses that let you off there:-
- From Choi Hung MTR station: 91 or 91M bus (use Exit C2); 11 minibus (use Exit C1)
- From Hang Hau MTR station: 11M minibus (use Exit B1)
- From Tiu Keng Leng MTR station: 792M bus (use Exit A1)
- From Sai Kung bus terminus: 792M bus; 12 minibus
Registration at the library
Non-UST users may enter the Library after completing a simple registration process at the Circulation Counter on G/F at the main entrance during summer time till mid-August. Advance booking is in general not required but If there is a larger group coming (say 10+ people), they may contact us (2358 6750 / lbarsc@ust.hk) in advance so we could make some earlier arrangements with colleagues at the Circulation Counter.
Directions to the exhibition
After getting into the Library, visitors may take the stairs up to 1/F and the Gallery is on the left, or they may take lift A near the library entrance to get to the 1/F.
