It was one of the early tall buildings in the area, a six-storey building between Des Voeux Rd W and Connaght Rd W.
It's shown on the right in the distance of this 1957 photo:

The 1950s map labels the big
The 1950s map labels the big white building as the China Provident Loan & Mortgage Co. Cold Store at 281-281 Des Voeux Road West. The Godowns to the east are owned by the same Company and are numbered 271-279. The replacement building Kwan Yik Phase 3 was competed in June 1978 so a likely demolishment date would be c1975. The Cold store does not appear in the 1949 aerial photo so an approximate construction date would be the early 1950s.
