Pearl Oyster Culture

246.    The pearl oyster culture farm situated at Lo Fu Wat, Tolo Channel, ceased operation in September, 1981 when the licence expired.

I believe I read a few years go someone is trying to revive it as an expleriment in a small scale floating platform there.

According to the records I found that Hong Kong have four place have pearl farm during 1950 to 1980 which located in Lo Fu Wat, Fung Wong Wat, Crooked Island (Kat O) and Lai Chi Chong. 

Nowadays, A Fisherman, Mr Yip from Sam Man Tsai had continued pearl faming at Lo Fu Wat and setup the oyster raft and Mr David Wong had oyster raft in Sai Kung.
