Sally Castle was my great aunt by birth. She was an internee at Stanley Civilian Prison Camp during the Second World War. Following the war, she returned to her home in Vancouver, Canada. 

I am writing a creative non-fiction book about Sally and her husband Gordon Castle, focusing upon their experiences at Stanley. 

Any help is gratefully appreciated.

They were in Bungalow A Room 1. I'm sure you know that Bungalow A still survives and is used as a small heritage museum on the St Stephen's College campus.

Thank you for the information. May I ask what records you obtained this information from and is there possibly more information about Sally Castle (she was in Stanley with her husband Gordon Castle).

The billet details were from the Stanley Camp Register held at the Imperial War Museum in London. It also gives the date of birth and occupation:

It must have been a small room as  (as far as I can see) they shared with one other (George Forder). Regards,  Philip

Thank you again. This is very interesting and confirms information that I had. I wonder what a shipping clerk did back then at the HK Kowloon Wharf? I looked up what a shipping clerk does today in HK and it is a job with a significant number of administrative responsbilities that requires mathematics training and an excellent command of several languages.
