Kam Mun Hotel, Cheung Chau Island [c.1940-????]

Current condition:
Demolished / No longer exists
Date Place completed:
c.1940-01-01 (Year, Month, Day are approximate)

Kam Mun Hotel was located on Lot 813, Cheung Chau Island and existed before the Japanese Occupation in 1941 - it seems to have been built in 1940. After the war it was used for a time as a temporary police station.

Does anyone have further details of this place and/or have the precise location of Lot 813, which was auctioned by the Government in 1938.

I like to follow this.

I've added a location based on the 1938 map of Cheung Chau, which shows that lot. The marker's location is close to where the building stood, but aligning the old and new maps wasn't 100% accurate, so it could be a couple of buildings off.

thanks for the update....

Thank you David.

So was the Kam Mun Hotel the building that exists today at 5A School Road - it seems to be a Government Office when I looked on Google.
