Recently I noticed this building is being demolished. I remember visiting customers there soon after I arrived in Hong Kong, and wondered when it was built. Then today on Flickr a 1974 photo appeared, showing it under construction.

Tai Sang
Hi Swire acquired that building for HK$1.36 bln a couple of years ago. According to this web site they have planning permission to clear the whole block, including the 12 low rises next to it: http://www.hkrei.com/2008/12/31/is-this-pacific-place-4/. A bulwark against Gordon Wu's Hopewell maybe, given they're developing the Lee Tung Street area?
Demolition of the Tai Sang
Demolition of the Tai Sang Commercial Building is finished now as it's just a flat, empty piece of land. No indications of anything happening with the 12 low rises though where it seems to be business as usual - is it a sure thing that they will be demolished too?
Anyone have a picture of the finished building?
Can anyone upload or provide a link to a good picture of the building when it was finished?
While it was very blocky and outdated i suppose, I always thought this building had some interesting features. Never got around to taking a picture of it and it was already half gone before I realized it.
