Chester Bennet was executed by the Japanese on 29th October 1943.  Extract from KWIZ #19:  "After being released from Stanley, Chester-Bennet (an American) carried on a money exchange system with the Camp.  The internees used to send out sterling cheques and C-B exchanged them for yen obtained from the restaurant Jimmy's Ktichen.  C-B was later arrested probably in connection with this."
