Sir Vandeleur Grayburn died in gaol, a.m. 21st. Japs made sure his body had decomposed enough to prevent investigation & then let C.S. & his wife know this afternoon. He was buried 6.30PM.

Heavy bombers raided colony 9.30am & 6pm. Saw at least 30 bombs dropped. Black-out.


Raid on Colony at 2.40PM by 14 4-engined bombers with fighter escort.

The black-out seems to affect only the Camp.(It was enforced as punishment for our demonstrations in air-raids)

Japs obviously anxious re outcome of Quebec Conference. Their paper is full of wild guesses & ridicule & fantastic claims.
