Slow boat to Macau?

I have a dim and distant (childhood)recollection of an 'over-night' boat to Macau from Hong Kong.

I wonder whether anyone can recall this? I seem to think you boarded the boat in the evening, on a quite large passenger boat/ferry and arrived in the early morning in Macau.

Given the distance to Macau, it does seem rather unlikely? It must have travelled extremely slowly!

Any thoughts?

Looking at a 1975 Italian film for another blog and noticed there was a small glimpse of the Nam Shan Macau Ferry.

KinShan Steamer

Date picture taken (to nearest decade for older photos):
1865

In 1865 the Hong Kong, Canton and Macao Steamboat Company was started, to provide steamship connection between Macao, Hong Kong, and Canton. The American shallow-draft river steamers Kinshan (the first boat of this name), White Cloud and Fire Dart were the company's earliest acquisitions. The White Cloud was a paddle-wheeled vessel, which was sold out of the company during the Spanish-American War.
