Another picuture of my grandfather P. Marks (1893-1981) in his manager office of the Nederlandsch-Indische Handelsbank, the Dutch India (more accurate: East-Indies) Commercial Bank in 8, Des Voeux Road. The big white square on the wall in the back is a map of China (he had to travel into the mainland sometimes and has been the bank's agent for Shanghai for a while as well). Picture to be dated November / December 1925 I guess.

Nederlandsch-Indische Handelsbank / Netherlands India Commercial Bank [1907-1950]

In 1950 the Nederlandsch-Indische Handelsbank was renamed Nationale Handelsbank N.V. They had their offices at 8, Des Voeux Road. The English name on the signs was Netherlands India Commercial Bank. However, instead of "India" the phrase "East Indies" would have been more an accurate description.
