The hill where the obelisk (white stone pen) situated is called Pak But Shan 白筆山 (means White Pen Hill).

Tai Tam Bay taken from the Dragon's Back Trail.

Pacific View is the high-rise on the right.

If you enlarge the photo and with a bit of imagination, you can spot pillbox 029 below the American Club.

I put the link to this hydrographical sea chart on the thread connected with Plover Bay. However I thought it deserves an image in its own right on Gwulo as the names are so evocative, e.g. Crooked Harbour, Port Shelter, Rocky Hanrbour and the Nine Pin Group of islands, and I'm not sure if they still exist. There's also a nice little glossary of Chinese to English geographical terms. From the information given, I believe the chart was from the 1906 British Survey but not printed till 1912 and then reissued by the US during World War 2.

Machine Gun Position, Tytam Harbour

This pic was taken from the pier infront of the temple in Lan Nai Wan looking across to the twin Machine Gun Positions on the rocky promontory. Have not yet found a route to access them on foot. Hong Kong International School is the white complex in the background across Tai Tam Bay.
