1929 Royal Buildings occupied at the southern half by the King Edward Hotel which stood behind the Alexandra Building. It was gutted by by fire and the building that rose on its site was named Chung Tin Building.

Royal Buildings

Completed in 1904, Royal Buildings stood on a narrow site that extended along Ice House Street. After a major fire in 1929 occupied as the King Edward Hotel it was rebuilt as an office block in 1931 and renamed Chung Tin Building.
