In 1901, a group of eight Chinese businessmen and community leaders wrote to the Governor of Hong Kong asking him to open an English school for Chinese children residing in the Colony.

Centre building is back of Fairlea Girls School, to the left of it is the Church Missionary Society Mission House. Their chapel is hidden lower in the trees between the two buildings

The corner of Sunnyside can just be seen on the far left of the photo

Up slightly to the left is Belvoir Lodge 1 & 2 (both with Turrets, just below flagpole)

Directly above St Stephens Lane there is a long building with arches. This is Parkview/Basilea

Mr J Grant Sharp and his family lived here from 1884-1887. Prior to their occupation the tenants were Mr Kennard Davies from the North China insurance Company 

Multiple families seemed to have lived her at the same time. Dr Eitel and his family was a tenant in 1886

There was a stable block at the house
