As mentioned in George Gerrard's diary of 10 April 1943, Bob Young received a letter from his wife to say that she had gone from Victoria to Toronto, having been stuck in Victoria for 18 months with her children and with two other Hong Kong wives, Mrs John Fleming (Kitty) and Mrs Harry Penn (Irene).
