Heading back from the toilet block to the road, we were able to get close to the ventilation chimneys of the shelters. Still looking the same as they did in 1941, but with a lot more plant matter on top.

Correct! This toilet block is almost the same as the one at Stanley Gap Battery, but instead of just three squat toilets, this one has a Western sit-down toilet as well for a total of four!

With three ventilation chimneys at the top, I guessed that this was a lavatory.

Deeper into the trees we could make out another structure.

Between the shelters is this stair going up to the firing pits. There were several paths through the undergrowth at the top.

Walking along the tangled branches revealed a long row of shelters, with the condition improving the further along we went.

Walking south along the Tai Tam Waterworks Historical Trail, the left fork is quieter and less crowded. Soon enough saw the ruins of the shelters.
